Operation's User Interfaces

While our software is powerful and complex, the end-user is always at the front of our minds. That’s why we created easy-to-use and intuitive graphical user interfaces.

Simpleway CMS is operated by the Operation’s User Interface (OpsUI). The user interface for network operators or station/vehicle staff is based on web technologies and it is easy to distribute and maintain. The OpsUI is normally used for day to day operations and has functionality focused on controlling and maintaining the movement of passengers through the whole travel process. All Simpleway solution user interfaces follow Web Content Accessibility Guidelines for screen design regarding use of text, and colours.

Default OpsUI functionality covers:

  • Ad-hoc and scripted messaging,
  • Messaging history overview,
  • Automated message scheduling and prioritization,
  • Canned message playback,
  • Assisted voice paging utilizing Text-to-speech,
  • Emergency scenarios triggering,
  • Overview of system data and automatic behaviour.

UI Extensions

Features of the Operation’s user interfaces can be broadly extended by using any of the extension modules. While setting up the project, we design the best solution that always fits the specific customer's processes and needs. The most often requested OpsUI extensions include:

  • Disruptions management module,
  • Manual trip communication tools,
  • UI graphical network and station maps,
  • Trip editor and master scheduler (as an alternative to the real-time data feeds).

Moreover, our CMS platform is easily scalable, meaning that we can deliver only specific types of user interfaces with different control features and purpose for different access levels, network areas or vehicle types, for example:

  • Operations control centre UI,
  • Station UI,
  • Onboard UI,
  • Drivers UI.

System Administration

Important part of the OpsUI and the whole Simpleway CMS is the administration module that allows to manage and maintain our system directly by clients after the deployment.

The administration functionalities include:

  • User access management - creation of user profiles and user groups including common profiles,
  • Content management – overview, editing and publishing of system content (templates, localisations, approval process),
  • Advertising campaigns management,
  • Hardware management – PA, display and other devices status monitoring and control,
  • System data and integrations management,
  • Event logging and system performance reporting.

The system administrator can also define different user groups and profiles such as:

  • System administrator with no restrictions
  • PIDS administrator
  • OCC operator
  • Station manager
  • Marketing and advertising manager
  • Maintenance staff

Whatever you need to do, everything is easily handled in the OpsUI administration module.
